Roscoe Robinson Jr. Memorial Lecture Series Features Eugene Harris, MPA ’69

GSPIA Alumnus Eugene Harris, MPA '69, provided the keynote address for the Roscoe Robinson Jr. Memorial Lecture on Tuesday, December 8, 2009. Mr. Harris is the diversity coordinator for the Allegheny Bar Association.

As a professional human resource specialist, Mr. Harris addressed the challenges and opportunities organizations face when implementing diversity programs into their organizations during his speech. "Diversity is like any other organizational strategy," he noted, while elaborating that future leaders must find creative ways to implement diversification programs that strengthen institutional goals and strategies.

Mr. Harris is a former Director of Human Resources and Recruiting for U.S. Steel. He has extensive experience in Human Resources, Labor and Employee Relations, and Training. Since 2001, he has worked as an independent consultant, developing and customizing Human Resources solutions for small and mid-sized organizations. He has a JD from Duquesne University Law School, an MPA from the University of Pittsburgh, and a BA from Pennsylvania State University.
